Hey Sunshines,
Food reviews are back, and this one is a confession. Y’all know me and bread do not get along. We are not friends, bread and me. It loves me too much, so much that I end up with love handles. I try to be good, I really do. Then I walked into Costco and met the King’s Hawaiian Maple Brown Sugar Rolls, and my good intentions packed their bags and left the building.
Eat good, feel good, look good. That is still the motto, and some days eating good means letting a warm, sweet roll have its moment.

How this Costco find found me
This is a limited time fall flavor, and Costco carries it in the big 24 roll pack, because Costco understands that a family needs rolls in bulk. The package says maple brown sugar, and the rolls come with a brown sugar topping that catches the light and makes promises the rolls absolutely keep.
First bite, honest review
The roll itself is that classic King’s Hawaiian softness, pillowy and tender, the kind of soft that makes you press it just to watch it spring back. The maple brown sugar flavor is warm and cozy without being too sweet, and the topping gives the top a gentle, sugary little crust. It tastes like fall decided to visit a Hawaiian roll and they became best friends.
Here is my credibility as a reviewer, Sunshines. The pack holds 24 rolls. I ate most of them my own self, and my family finished the rest. That is not a review, that is a witness statement.

Ways to love these rolls
- Warm one for about 10 seconds and let it melt in your mouth with your morning coffee
- Set a basket on the holiday table and watch them disappear before the main dish lands
- Split them for little sliders, ham and cheese is a beautiful decision here
- Use them for a sweet breakfast sandwich with egg and bacon, salty and sweet together
- Eat one standing in the kitchen and tell nobody, this is the reviewer approved method
You need these for your holiday meals
Sunshines, let me say it plain for everybody planning a menu right now: you need these rolls for your holiday meals. If you are searching for the best rolls for Thanksgiving dinner, an easy Christmas dinner side dish, or what to serve with holiday ham, this is your answer. Sweet, warm rolls belong next to the turkey, the ham, and every potluck plate in between, and these come ready to warm and serve, no recipe, no mixing, no extra stress in a holiday kitchen that already has enough going on. One 24 pack covers the whole holiday table, if your family lets them live that long. Mine did not.
The verdict
It is a hit. Soft, sweet, cozy, and dangerous in the best way. If you see the orange package at Costco, do not walk past it and do not think about it too long, because limited time means limited time, and when they are gone, they are gone until the season remembers us again.
